We received an incredible number of submissions from photographers of all levels, and the quality of work was truly outstanding. Each image told a unique story about New Paltz’s natural beauty, making it difficult to choose our winners. In addition to our top awardees, we’ve selected a group of finalists whose work impressed our judges with creativity, composition, and a deep connection to the outdoors. These finalists represent the vibrant talent in our community, and we’re excited to share their work with you!

Ryan Cronin

Ryan Cronin is a Hudson Valley artist, based in New Paltz since the early ’90s, known for his bold, original works created with Rust-Oleum paint. Influenced by icons like Robert Indiana and Philip Guston, Cronin draws inspiration from street signs and cultural markers. He recently completed a residency in Senegal.

Ryan James Kraus

Ryan Kraus is a photographer from New Paltz, NY, specializing in film and digital mediums. A university student and manager of a martial arts studio, Ryan’s passion for photography began in a high school darkroom. In 2023, he launched New Paltz Photo Works, a B&W photography newspaper showcasing global artists.

Thomas Brodin

Thomas Brodin is a New Paltz-based French photographer and Creative Director. He co-founded Annex Agency and serves as the Creative Director at Splashlight, a content creation studio in NYC. His photography features images collected from his extensive travels.
